Ramsay on the left at 5 weeks old

Ramsay - Clunkamoor Last Word For Wasserhund - came to live with us at the beginning of October 2008. He is by Teamaides Gastrikke Gutten out of Helkenna Winters Dream at Clunkamoor and was bred by Janet Nash.

Thanks Janet for this lovely boy. He is a happy boy, full of mischief and character.

So far he has never been unplaced at Open Shows. At his first show when he was just 6 months old he was 2nd in Leonberger Open and was placed 2nd out of 23 in an Any Variety Working Puppy. He won Working Puppy Group 4 at 7 months of age.

To date Ramsay is the only Leonberger in Scotland to have won a Best Puppy In Show in Scotland, having won 1 x Best Minor Puppy and 2 x Best Puppy in Show awards, plus 2 x Reserve Best Puppy In Show awards.

Many thanks to Kathy Bird and Frank Kane who both awarded him Best Puppy in Show and to Mike Gadsby who gave him Best Special Minor Puppy in Show. He finished his puppy career by going Reserve Best Puppy in Show at his last 2 shows as a puppy on consecutive days.

Ramsay won the Puppy Dog Class, the Junior Class and Best Puppy in Breed at Blackpool Championship Show under Mrs. Sarah Sevastopulo (Oldholbans) - Breed Specialist. Many thanks to Sarah for this award. Her critique read:

Class 1866 PD (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 8614 BELL Mrs A Clunkamoor Last Word – Just Gorgeous. Terrific bone, substance and coat. Excellent angulation giving him a super forechest and driving action on the move. Has a true shaped head, super mask, eye could be darker and tighter for perfection. Good topline and underline, just needs time to firm up all over but see him as a CH of the future. Best Puppy.

03/01/2010 - Ramsay gained the final points for his Show Certificate of Merit. 15 of his points were from group places. He is the youngest Leonberger in Scotland to win a Show Certificate of Merit at just 16 months old.

17/01/2010 - Ramsay gained the final points for his Junior Warrant, making him the only Leonberger in Scotland to win this award. 12 of his points came from Championship Shows.

06/02/10 - Ramsay won Group 1 at the Caledonian Canine Society, Scotland's biggest Open Show. The judge was Margaret Boulcott. Her critique read:

Bell's Clunkamoor Last Word for Wasserhund, wow, what a quality dog and in super condition, all male, in my notes I have written stallion dog, with no coarseness. Good head balance, with Roman nose, oval eye with no haw, well feathered medium high set ear, strong neck into a well laid shoulder, elbows tight, pastern strong, broad deep chest and oval rib and strong loins, really good rearquarters showing no weakness, moderate stifle and strong hocks, excellent jacket, presented to perfection, moved well with extension in front and plenty of drive from rear.

11/03/2010 - Ramsay attended his first Crufts where he won the Yearling Dog Class and in the challenge won the Reserve Challenge Certificate.  The judge, Judy Oriani's critique read:

Yearling Dog : Bell's Clunkamoor Last Word For Wasserhund. 18 Month. Wonderful quality, so powerful and strong, great bone and substance without being overdone, moved correctly with drive, has a beautifully blanced head type with lovely dark eyes, must be a future champion.

17/05/2010 - Got Ramsay's hip and elbow scores today. His hips are 2 - 2, and his elbow's are 0-0. He was eye tested clear at Birmingham National.

After a long break from the show ring with only a few shows to keep his paw in, on 26.02.2011 - Ramsay attended Irvine & District Canine Society's Open Show where won the NSC Open Class, challenged the Graduate winner and went Best NSC. He then went in to challenge for a place in the Group and won Group 1. He then had to challenge for Best in Show which he won, making him the only Leonberger in Scotland at present to have won a Best in Show at an Open Show in Scotland. The judge was David Eadie from Canada who remarked "He is one of the soundest moving Leonbergers I have ever met" which really made my day. His breeder, Janet Nash, has now lifted Ramsay's restrictions. He has been tested for LP1 for which he is clear, and his eyes were tested at Birmingham National on 05.05.2011 and are clear. Ramsay is at stud to bitches of approved bloodlines.

27/08/2011 - Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show - Ramsay won the Challenge Certificate, Best of Breed and Working Group 4.

The Working Group Judge, Jan Rual's critique read:

G4 the Leonberger, Clunkamoor Last Word for Wasserhund, excellent head & eye, excellent neck & topline, solid, powerful male, moved extremely well for such a heavy dog, in beautiful coat & condition.

John Feehan (Manorguard) - Breed Specialist - critique read:

CC & BOB. Bell's Clunkamoor Last Word for Wasserhund, powerfully built in top class condition & not far off his best, super head & expression, correct shaped dark eyes & level bite, excellent bone, perfect front assembly with good reach of neck, nice tight feet, lovely balance with correct hind angulation, powered round the ring holding a level topline & correct tail carriage at all times. Every dog has his day & this was this dog's day and I counldn't fault him & was delighted when he was awarded G4.

Selkirk & District Canine Society Open Show - Ramsay won AVNSC Open, Group 1 and Best in Show. Ramsay has only been to 4 Open Shows this year and has gone Best in Show twice and won Group 3 at his first show of 2011.

Clunkamoor Last Word for Wasserhund (Ramsay) Best in Show Selkirk & District Caninie Society - Judge Pat Burgess. Mrs. Burgess' critique read: WORKING NSC. " 1 Bell's Clunkamoor Last Word For Wasserhund, Leonberger, it was my privilege and pleasure to make the acquaintance of this gorgeous gentle giant. Wonderful head & skull with black mask & correctly set feathered ears, eyes were dark & intelligent & friendly, substance & marvellous bone structure, powerful & muscular who for all his great size could move with dignity & grace with a show of great strength, shown to perfection by a knowledgeable handler. Must surely achieve his crown. Group 1, BIS."
